2 Corinthians 4
Paul teaches that by accepting Christ,
we receive a treasure, the knowledge of the glory of God. This knowledge has
been granted to us through Christ for God’s glory, that we may proclaim it to
all peoples. Paul also wants us to understand that
there will be pain and suffering in their lives here on earth, but they can
persevere through believing in Christ and having confidence in the promise of
the resurrection, eternity with Christ.
2 Corinthians 5
In Christ we are a new creation! Our relationship with Christ gives us a brand
new life. Once we receive the treasure
of Christ and our life becomes brand new, we become coworkers with and for
Christ. Works are not necessary for
salvation but the new you will certainly want to do all you can to share the
gospel (good news)!
2 Corinthians 6
Paul lists the difficulties he’s had to remind the Corinthians
that he always tried to live in a way that would honor God, no matter how
difficult things got. Paul endured many
hardships as God’s servant unlike the false teachers who wanted comfort and
personal gain. He also urged the
Corinthians to avoid the teachings of false teachers because they were
spreading Satan’s message.
