We are Blessed!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! Spent a relaxing day with family and lots of good food!  We have so much to be thankful for and yes top of the list was the much needed rain we got Wednesday night!

Pray for Rain

This morning I have been reading/studying Genesis (remember Bible in a Year for the 3rd time in 2016) and came to the verses regarding the seven year drought.  I can't even imagine the devastation that would occur during a seven year drought.  Please pray for rain and that our drought will end soon!

Shoe Boxes

Our Synergy group packed 20 shoe boxes this week for Samaritan's Purse!  The students really enjoy collecting items throughout the year, packing the boxes, and praying for the children that will receive them.  This year we picked 2 special boxes to track.  We can't wait to see how far they travel!

Maybe we can fill twice as many next year!

Romans

Tonight's lesson will be on Romans since my students reading the Bible in a year will be completing Romans next week.

The Epistle (letter) to the Romans or as we know it, Romans, is the sixth book in the New Testament. It was written by the Apostle Paul to explain that salvation is offered through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Just completed the Bible in a year for the 2nd time in 2016!  What a great feeling!  How do you celebrate?  Open the Bible to Genesis and begin again....of course!!!

Prayer and Our Relationship With God

To me prayer is simply talking to God without ceasing---24/7!!  I talk to God about everything and I know he listens to every word.  I am currently reading a book on prayer and the author states the exact date she went from "religion to relationship" with God.  She encourages readers to do the same.  I have to totally disagree with this section of her book.  I know the date I was saved and since that date I have spent years developing a relationship with God. I hope that it is a relationship that continues to grow and flourish throughout the rest of my life.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
